Jade moved to a new room. Room 402. She took a walk down the hall and back. Got a headache doing it but sure that will get better. She is off IV pain meds and now on oral meds. She ate New York steak and some rice for lunch. Talk about spoiled.

Jade is feeling so much better. Last night she had some pain and nausea. That went away and she was able to eat a nice breakfast of omelette, fruit and gluten free toast. The nurses say she is the Best chiari patient ever. Jade is so amazed by how she feels. She is thinking that along with her chronic headaches she had pain that her mind did not know she had because she feels so amazing now. Her vision is better, numbness better.  Not sure when she will be moved to a regular room yet. Physical therapy will be here around 1:00. Not sure how much I will post today as not much will be happening.  Thank you everyone for all your support and prayers. Jade is an amazing example of God's Power!  Love to all.

AAAAAAAHHHHHH! She is up!! The nurse stood her up and she is sitting in a chair eating (drinking) a liquid supper!!!!!!!!!!

Jade is more awake now. Watching tv between dozing. She says she feels better than expected. She feels stiff in her neck. gee i can believe it. She should have a good night

Whew! She is out of surgery and in recovery. The doctor talked to us. All went very well. She is moving fingers and toes and talking. He did not put in the titanium plate. Her bone was too thin. He has seen this before but it's rare. She will not be in danger from no plate. May have some sinking but will not notice with hair over it. Her chiari was getting bad. He could see where the cerebellar tonsils were really pushing on the spinal cord. They even had callouses on the bottom of them. Glad we had this done. I am sure she will feel better.  I know I feel better. We should be able to see her in about an hour.   Yay!!

Yay! decompression went well. They are putting in the titanium plate right now. The doctor will be out in about 30 minutes to talk to us.  Almost done!!!

Got an update. The nurse said Jade was doing very well. They could not ask for better. They are going to ultrasound the sinus (not in the nose) before they open up the dura, which is the covering of the brain. They will give another update in about an hour.  Family still doing ok, not pacing yet.:)

Jade went back to surgery around 8:30.  Around 9:15 they were actually starting the surgery. She is doing well. Next update should be around 10:30 or so.  As soon as I get that I will post.

Well, My pretty hair is going away tomorrow... Gonna miss it.

Wonderful Night

My family treated me to a wonderful day today! First we had a delicious breakfast out at Village Inn, I had potato pancakes and cinnamon apples. We went to the mall and we played James Bond laser game. We had to dodge all the laser lights and get to the end of the tunnel. It was sooo cool!
We Went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. OMG! It was so good, it was a fitting special dinner for tonight. Everyone had so much fun. The staff danced, we ate yummy crab out of a bucket, and the music and environment was fantastic! I ended this wonderful day in a super comfy hotel room, cuddled up to Anthony. We watched TV and snuggled.

What a wonderful day I had today! I have a wonderful loving family who sure cares about me a lot!

Getting Ready

Well, today I am getting ready for my surgery. I have a few days to go but we are packing and cleaning the house really good. I made a few dinners to freeze so Anthony can microwave it later. Tomorrow we are going to go shopping and spend all of the money I just got from work. Oh well...

I am getting excited for all of my symptoms to go away. I am also nervous about the surgery but I know it will be alright. I have so many people praying for me and supporting me. I thank every one of you for your support in my journey.

Hope everyone has a wonderful new year. I know I am looking forward to it.
